About the new Election Rules

Hello MCSHOA Members

Recently a letter from MCSHOA president Mark Black was mailed to you concerning the Special Assessment your Board has asked for you to approve. The letter explains the reasons for the assessment but not the process. Below is an outline of that process. By law it is required to be a secret ballot election process.

First: you have 30 days to respond to the letter recently sent out, effective September 22, 2021. Respond to Business Connections with any response you have, by October 21, 2021.

Second: Once the Board reviews any responses, they will authorize the Inspector of Elections (Business Connections) to mail out the secret ballots for the Special Assessment. Association members will have 30 days to mail their ballots back into Business Connections (sealed and signed as requested) with the envelopes provided.

Third: the ballots will be opened and counted by the Inspector of Elections on or about November 27 (an agenda will be forthcoming) at a Board meeting held at Business Connections in Red Bluff. This will also be a Zoom meeting.

Fourth: within 10 days of the Board meeting held on the 27th, a notice will be posted on our web page and at the lodge outlining the results of the election.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. It is important to our Association and its members that you participate.”The new MCSHOA Election Rules were unanimously passed by the Board at a recent Board meeting in August. These new rules will be the “ Rules” our HOA will use when “Electing Directors” and when we have a “Special Assessment” to consider.

Also, for your information: The revised Bylaws and CC&R’s (B&C’s) are currently being worked on by our lawyer and your Board. After the Board reviews the rewrite and makes comments, the Association will get copies to review and make comments on. Eventually, they will be voted on by the Association for approval or not.

It was stated by our lawyer that our goal is to have the new B&C’s completed before July, 2022.

Sincerely, Mark Black, President
